Position Description
Reporting to firm leadership, the Marketing Manager will help expand Telesto Strategy’s audience, generate outbound business development prospects, and increase engagement by producing original communication and marketing campaigns, driving social media initiatives, fielding media requests, and developing Telesto’s marketing strategy in partnership with leadership. This includes building and implementing a marketing and communications plan that aligns with Telesto Strategy’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Climate, and Sustainability focus. Key areas of management include Telesto’s social media accounts, website, newsletters, press releases, email blasts, and marketing materials. The Marketing Manager will also respond to all media requests.

Job Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, the Marketing Manager’s responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities

  • Co-develop strategies and implement tactics to measurably improve the company’s brand value
  • Attract qualified prospect clients and accelerate stage progression of leads

Activities

  • Content development process management and execution, in partnership with firm leadership for technical input and direction, including content for the website, social media channels, email marketing, press releases, and others
  • Marketing strategy development, in partnership with firm leadership
  • Continuous assessment, refinement, and alignment of marketing strategy and tactics to business objectives and market dynamics
  • Marketing campaign design and execution
  • B2B social media strategy development and management
  • Identification of key audiences for marketing to engage, educate, and inspire desired actions
  • Event planning and coordination of internal and external firm events
  • Publications and marketing-related website management (content uploading, digital marketing performance analysis and reporting, etc.)
  • Establishment of an effective feedback strategy for consistent improvement
  • Management of marketing budget
  • CRM and development of target database

Because Telesto is a growing and evolving firm, the focus of the Marketing Managers’s responsibilities within the firm may be subject to adjustment. Any such change will be communicated to the Marketing Manager at such time.


Position Requirements

Success in this position will require:

  • Planning and execution acumen to set internal priorities, maintain oversight over all marketing activities, and execute plans per timelines and quality expectations
  • Stellar writing skills to develop messaging that resonates with different audiences and deepens public knowledge of the company
  • Social media skills with a deep understanding of managing social media campaigns on LinkedIn, X, and other mainstream platforms
  • Design skills for curated content in line with Telesto’s brand guidelines
  • Comfortability working with WordPress, PowerPoint, Hootsuite, Adobe, Canva, and G Suite
  • Analytical skills to research and generate content for marketing initiatives and creative projects
  • Interpersonal skills for building effective and collaborative communication with internal and external partners

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Marketing and content creation skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, strategy, and content development
  • Demonstrated track record of SEO content production and analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication with a focus on story-telling and narrative development experience
  • Ability to produce high-quality designs in line with branding and style guidelines
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, CRM / CFM software, and marketing tools

Management and interpersonal skills

    • Strong project management experience with an emphasis on campaigns and budgets
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize key initiatives through communication with leadership
    • Strong interpersonal skills with experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, with a mindset of inclusion across all areas of work
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity, adaptability, and excitement to expand the firm’s impact in line with our vision to regenerate the planet’s health, resources, and wellbeing

Compensation

Telesto Strategy cares about its people, and its compensation package and benefits are designed accordingly. The standard base pay range for this role is $90,000-130,000 annually. This base pay range is specific to Illinois and may not be applicable to other locations. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for year-end bonus compensation based on individual and firm performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on individual and firm performance.

Location and travel
This role is based in Chicago with a mix of in-person and remote work. Telesto is planning to open an office in Chicago in 2024, and as that happens, we will adopt a hybrid policy.
